Business Complaints

Business Licenses

All businesses operating in the City of Edmonton are required to have a valid business license.

Promotional Materials

The unauthorized distribution of handbill or flyers on hotel premises is prohibited.

Residential Complaints

Appliances

You can report locations where appliances are left outside unsecured in the open.

Fire Pits

The creation of and usage of fire pits and outdoor fireplaces is regulated.

Garbage

Improperly stored garbage is a nuisance and subject to a fine.

Snow on Sidewalks

Failure to clear snow from the sidewalks near your property could result in a fine.

Smoking, Noise and Nuisance Conditions

Excessive Odours and Emissions

It is an offense to create or allow odours, emissions, smoke, vapour, dust or other airborne matter on your property.

Dumping Waste

Dumping of waste or public or private property without consent is prohibited.

Graffiti

Owners are required to remove graffiti from their property within a reasonable amount of time.

Litter

You cannot leave any garbage, litter or other waste in a public place except in a waste can or bin.

Making Noise

You can report vehicles or properties that are making noise infractions.

Nuisance Conditions

You are responsible for keeping your property in good repair.

Smoking in Public Places

Smoking is prohibited in all public places and workspaces. Businesses are responsible for removing cigarette litter near their properties.

Streets, Signs and Vehicles Complaints

Boulevards

Residents are responsible to care for the boulevard, alley and driveway crossing adjacent to their property line.

Dirt Tracked on a Roadway

Vehicles are prohibited from tracking mud, dirt or debris on a roadway.

Recreation Vehicles

Improperly parked recreational vehicles are subject to fines.

Signs

Signs placed on roadways, light standards and other traffic areas are regulated.

Unsecured Loads

People using vehicles to transport materials must have the load properly secured.
