Accepted Events will be added to the calendar based on the following guidelines:

Events that are eligible for the neighbourhood calendar:

  • Community meetings and events
  • Events at neighbourhood senior centres
  • Events at faith organizations
  • Multicultural events and celebrations in the neighbourhood
  • Non-profit organization events
  • Neighbourhood block parties and BBQs
  • Rebuild and Renew Events in Your Neighbourhood
  • Neighbourhood clean-up events
  • Neighbourhood Garage/Yard Sales (multiple families/organisations)
  • Other neighbourhood-building events

Events that are not eligible for the neighbourhood calendar:

  • Individual garage/yard sales
  • House/backyard parties
  • home business parties or demonstrations

The City will also advertise its neighbourhood events in the calendar to make it more convenient for you to take part. These will include events such as:

  • Big Bin Events
  • Green Shack/Snow Shack Events
  • Skate Park/Spray Park hours and neighbourhood locations
  • Farmer’s Markets
  • Rebuild and Renew Events in Your Neighbourhood
  • Neighbourhood clean-up events
  • Municipal election events and location
  • Ward meetings
  • Neighbourhood planning meetings
  • Open Houses
  • Public consultations

The following events will not be included on the Great Neighbourhoods Event Calendar. These can be found  on the main Festivals and Events calendar:

  • Concerts (not neighbourhood specific)
  • Festivals (not neighbourhood specific)
  • Chamber of Commerce Meetings
