Edmonton Transit is committed to providing safe, accessible, reliable transportation to all of our customers, with barrier-free services, programs and features that make public transit easy and convenient for everyone.

Our bus fleet is 100% accessible,  with ramps, a kneeling (lowering) front entrance, priority seating with flip-up bus seats for seniors and others with reduced mobility, accessible stop request buttons and scooter/wheelchair access.  

The LRT system features include accessible doorways and ramps on train cars, a priority waiting area on train platforms, colour contrast and tactile edging and striping on stairs and platforms, automatic station door openers, elevators and escalators. Platforms and mezzanine levels of stations have audible and visual announcements.

Transit facilities, including transit centres, LRT stations, and bus shelters are designed with barrier-free access in mind. Features include automatic doors, curb cuts and pararamps, bench seating with arm rests, unobstructed sight lines, security lighting, and mobility aid access.
